Formed by interlocking arcs, the base of the Cordova Fountain, located in the East Garden of the San Fernando Missione, is shaped like a Moorish Star. The fountain is a copy of another fountain found across the street from the mission grounds, at Brand Park. Both are replicas of a fountain in Cordova, Spain. Originally gravity-fed, the Cordova Fountain now uses pumps. In 1964. Mr. Arthur Ballin, who worked for the San Fernando Mission for 37 years, built the Cordova Fountain over another fountain which was located on the same site.
