This seventy-five pound, beautifully cast bronze bell is believed to have been cast on the island of Kodiak (which was at that time part of Russia) in l796, a year before mission San Fernando was founded. Most present day items at the mission are replicas of the mission days, but this bell is one of the few that is original to the mission.
